Where East meets gold
East Star Trading was born from a lifelong fascination with the ancient goldsmithing traditions of East Asia — techniques passed down through generations of artisans who understood that true luxury lies in restraint.
Every piece in our collection begins as a sketch, evolves through wax carving, and is finished entirely by hand. We work exclusively in 18k gold, chosen for its warmth, durability, and the way it catches light at dusk.
We are a small atelier. We make fewer pieces so that each one receives the attention it deserves.
The handcraft process
Sketch & design
Each piece begins as a hand-drawn sketch, exploring proportion, weight, and how the piece will move on the body.
Wax carving
Our artisans carve the design in jeweller's wax — a centuries-old technique that allows for organic, flowing forms impossible to achieve by machine.
Lost-wax casting
The wax model is encased in plaster and burned away, leaving a perfect cavity. Molten 18k gold is poured in and allowed to cool slowly.
Hand finishing
Each casting is filed, polished, and inspected by hand. Stone setting, engraving, and final surface work are all done by a single artisan from start to finish.
